Ateneo ENTABLADO presents 'Sa Tahanan ng Aking Ama'
This October 2024, ENTABLADO presents, Sa Tahanan ng Aking Ama, a Filipino translation by Jerry Respeto of Elsa Coscolluela’s In My Father’s House.
QUEZON CITY, Philippines — Ateneo ENTABLADO (ENterteynment para sa TAo, Bayan, LAnsangan, at DiyOs), the premier and leading socio-political theater organization of the Ateneo de Manila, promoting critical discourse and active participation in our nation’s socio-political and cultural realities through theatrical performances. This October 2024, ENTABLADO presents, Sa Tahanan ng Aking Ama, a Filipino translation by Jerry Respeto of Elsa Coscolluela’s In My Father’s House.
The play follows the Santamaria family, a prominent and influential political family, in Dumaguete, Negros Island during the three-year Japanese occupation of the Philippines. Rooted in the true story of the playwright, Elsa Coscolluela's father and her mother-in-law's family, the play vividly portrays the slow unraveling of an Ilonggo family and the inner disintegration of its members against the backdrop of the Japanese occupation in 1940s Negros.

Sa Tahanan Ng Aking Ama opens its seventeen (17) show runs on October 9, and will run until October 27 at the Doreen Black Box Theater in Areté, Ateneo de Manila University. Matinee shows will be at 2:00 PM on October 12-13, 19-20, and 26-27, while evening shows will be at 7:00 PM on all show dates. Tickets are priced at PhP 850 for the general public (inclusive of service fee), Php 680 for Senior Citizens and PWDs, PhP 500 for Ateneo students (LS, SHS, JHS), PhP 450 for Scholars, and PhP 400 for Ateneo PWDs.
